PREPARE YOUR GUESTS FOR YOUR DESTINATION WEDDING
Planning a destination wedding is exciting, however it is important to make sure you and your guests are fully prepared for the big day and the trip! Here are a few tips that may be helpful with the planning process.
Send save-the-date’s from early!
Six months is sufficient time to send out including the date and venue. This gives your guests (including your family, bridal party and close friends) plenty of time to make necessary arrangements to attend your special day!
Be communicative!
Create a wedding website to keep your guests apprised of all details. This will give them all the information they need without having to constantly update everyone individually.
Accommodation and transportation!
This is a crucial part of the planning process for your guests. It will make it easier for them when booking their trip to have a few places to choose from. Make sure all of the recommendations fit everyone’s budget and incorporate a special group code discount if available with the accommodations. Organize a mode of transportation for your guests to get to and from the wedding and back to their accommodation. Also include options for transportation around the area. Make sure to upload these options on your wedding website!
Keep your guests happy and entertained!
Your destination wedding will most likely be vacation time for most of your guests and if you hadn’t invited them to your wedding, they may not have chosen to visit this particular place. Arrange a welcome party/dinner on arrival as well as a breakfast or lunch the day after the wedding. Advise of local attractions and restaurants to visit. Include all of these on your wedding website!
Bid everyone an exciting farewell!
Include some local party favors your guests may leave the wedding with such as a desert or souvenir. Gifting them a memory they can keep of your special day and of their trip will make them feel appreciated and glad that they came!
